Arielle is originally from Wilmington, MA. She attended Boston College and majored in Biochemistry. At NYU she is a co-president of the surgery club, a course liaison, and is involved in breast cancer research at the NYU Cancer Center.

Ilina is from Denver, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she majored in Biochemistry and Physiology. She is president of the Class of 2013 and conducted research on Women's Cancer in Southern India as part of the International Health Program here at NYU.

Gloria is from Miami, Florida. She attended New York University for her undergraduate degree, where she majored in Psychology. Now at NYU, she volunteers for the NYC Free Clinic and reviews submissions to the Bellevue Literary Review.

Patricia is originally from Zionsville, Indiana. She attended Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and French. At NYU, Patricia is one of the co-directors of the Free Clinic and enjoys running and swimming in her free time.

James is from Washington D.C. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he majored in Physiology and Neurobiology. At NYU, James was named as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow, and conducted osteoarthritis research for the Division of Rheumatology at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Tyler was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and graduated from The Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Environmental Engineering. He is interested in environmental health, working with research groups at NYU and Columbia University to study the health effects of arsenic exposure in Bangladesh. With a professional wine certification, he also works as a wine consultant in a Manhattan wine shop. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys life in New York and feeds his obsession with Florida State football.

Melissa is from Seaford, NY. She graduated from New York University in 2009 where she majored in Biochemistry with a minor in Economics. At NYUSOM, she is a member of Student Council and serves as the Student Senator. She is also a co-president of both the Surgery and Running clubs.

Emi is from West Hartford, Connecticut and studied math at Pomona College. She spent a year teaching English in Japan after college and enjoys playing rugby. She currently serves as the Student Council President, trying to help maintain the fantastic student experience here!

Daniel is from Freeport, NY. He attended Harvard University, where he studied Chemical and Physical Biology. At NYU he is a social chair for the Black and Latino Students Association (BALSA) and also serves as the MD/PhD representative on the Office of Diversity Affairs' Advisory Board.

Daniela is from Maracaibo, Venezuela and attended the University of Florida where she majored in Food Science and Human Nutrition. At NYU, Daniela has been involved in the BELLE Project, a research initiative to help promote child development among the community's disadvantaged Latino population. As Community Service Chair for the Black and Latino Student Association, Daniela also spearheaded an initiative this summer for students to provide free health screenings and nutritional counseling at the weekly Bellevue Farmer's Market.


Tara Russel

Tara grew up in Walnut Creek, California. She attended Dickinson College where she was a double major in both Biology and Sociology. During her time off before attending NYU, she received her Masters in Public Health from Tufts University and managed a clinical trial focusing on Breast Cancer related Lymphedema at Massachusetts General Hospital. At NYU she is involved in the Oncology Club, Course Liaisons (curriculum advisory group) and continues to do research at MGH and the Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Said is originally from Havana, Cuba. He attended Emory University where he majored in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and minored in Music. At NYU he is the co-president of the Black and Latino Students Association, a class representative of Dean's Advisory Board of Diversity, and president of the Painting Club. He plans to pursue a career in Pediatrics.

Stasy is from Staten Island, NY. She went to college at NYU where she majored in Art History. As a med student at NYU, she is a patient advocate for the student-run free clinic and a student coordinator for the Bellevue Survivors of Torture Clinic. She is also working on research at the Bellevue Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Kseniya is from Staten Island, New York. She attended NYU, where she majored in Spanish. At NYUSOM she is president of Dermatology Interest Group and co-president of AMSA. Over the summer, she traveled to Slovakia to study the effects of second hand smoke on children's development as part of the International Health Program.

Natalie grew up in Westchester, NY and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2009 where she majored in Cell and Molecular Biology. At NYU SOM she is involved in many of the teaching student groups, including HELP and BASIS. She was also a member of the class of 2014 Orientation Committee. Outside of school, she loves trying new recipes and cooking for her friends and of course, cheering for the Wolverines every Saturday!

Ainah is from Chicago, Illinois. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Economics and Biology. At NYU she is the Co-Director/Director of Development of the New York City Free Clinic and the Treasurer of NYU School of Medicine's chapter of AMSA (American Medical Student Association). Ainah has also been involved in dermatology research and in her spare time she enjoys the restaurants, arts and culture of New York City.
