Rachel was born and raised in Stony Brook, NY. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and majored in Biological Basis of Behavior with a minor in Health Care Management. After graduating in 2008, she joined Teach for America and taught 11th grade Chemistry for two years in Philadelphia. At NYU she is involved in the program HELP, that teaches GED students about topics in health literacy, serves as a co-chair for Patient Education at the NYC Free Clinic, and is on the board of the Dermatology Interest Group

Kaitlyn grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota and graduated from Yale University in 2009. At Yale, Kaitlyn majored in political science and played on the varsity women's basketball team. Between college and starting medical school she worked as a clinical research assistant for an orthopedic surgeon in NYC. In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys traveling, working out and eating at all the great places NYC has to offer.

Jennifer grew up in Middletown, NJ and attended Yale University, where she double-majored in Psychology and History of Medicine. She was supposed to be in the class of 2013, but deferred for a Fulbright year teaching English at the University of Macau and traveling around Asia. At NYU, Jennifer leads the Christian Fellowship, coordinates public relations for the Free Clinic, and enjoys exploring all that NYC has to offer!

Now at NYU, she is the Vice President of the Gastroenterology Club, participates in many of the teaching clubs including BASIS and HELP, and is involved in the Survivors of Torture Club. She also makes time to play on the Class of 2014 Girls’ Football Team!

She also volunteers through the Brothers and Sisters in Science club (BASIS) and is actively involved in the Business and Economics in Medicine club (BEAM). In her free time she enjoys cooking and exploring the city.

Asya grew up in Forest Hills, NY. She graduated from Columbia University in 2009, where she double majored in Biology and Psychology. At NYU, she is co-President of AMSA, and on the board of several student organizations, including NYC Free Clinic, JSA, and HOPE. Over the summer (2011), she is travelling to Beijing as part of NYU’s International Health Program to conduct cervical cancer research.

Bobbi was born and raised in Naples, Florida and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science. During her time off before medical school, she taught full time high school biology at the high school she herself attended in Naples. At NYU, she has leadership positions in the Dermatology Interest Group, Harm Reduction Alliance, Oncology Club, Course Liaisons, and the New York City Free Clinic. She also conducts research on metastatic melanoma at NYU and through an IHP project in Madrid, Spain.

At NYU, Stephanie is one of the co-directors for the NYC Free Clinic and the vice president of the Classical Musicians in Medicine club. She also has been an active volunteer for Reaching Out to Kids at the Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys playing the piano, exploring new restaurants, and rooting for the Miami Dolphins!

Before NYU, he took a year off to continue a research project in type 2 diabetes at the Joslin Diabetes Center. At NYU, he is a leader of the GI club, and performing research in medical parasitology.

After college he joined Teach for America and became a chemistry teacher at a high school in Brooklyn where he taught for two years. At NYU he continues to teach through the student groups HELP and Mini-Meds. When not studying he enjoys competing on the athletic field as well as experiencing all New York has to offer.

Since arriving at NYU, Brent has served as a course liaison, vice president of his class and currently serves as the Student Council President. Brent will be conducting research on biofilm formation in Shanghai, China this summer as part of the NYU International Health Program.
